The story revolves around Tawan, a young woman living with Yuanjai, her aunt-in-law, and Yaadfa, Yuanjai's daughter. Although Tawan is the legitimate niece of Yot, Yuanjai's deceased husband, she lives in the house merely as a servant. This makes Jiew, the housemaid, feel deeply sympathetic toward Tawan. One day, Trong, a wealthy mine owner and friend of Yot, wants Tomorn, his son, to marry Yaadfa. Trong and Yot had arranged their engagement since they were children. However, Yaadfa doesn't want to marry Tomorn, thinking he is just a country boy and not wealthy. Moreover, she is already married to Banleng. Both Yaadfa and Banleng are irresponsible and waste Yuanjai's money, eventually leading to debts and a mortgage on the house. Tomorn pays off the debts, and Yuanjai, seeing Tomorn's wealth, wants his assets. She convinces Tawan to impersonate Yaadfa. Tawan feels uneasy because Tomorn had told her that he despises lies the most. When Tomorn marries Tawan under the name of Yaadfa, Tawan has to move to a mansion in Phuket. She faces harassment from Sawai, Tomorn's mother; Kingkaew, Tomorn's sister's nanny; and Sophit, a girl who likes Tomorn, because they all dislike her for marrying Tomorn.
